Webinar on Bangla Bhashacharcha: Uchcharan

Green University Language Center, under the guidance of the competent authority has successfully hosted the webinar “Bangla Bhashacharcha: Uchcharan ” on April 12, 2021.

Students who are on various educational levels at the Green University of Bangladesh have attended the event. Scholars on different academic and research backgrounds have graced the respective event. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Honorable Pro VC; Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) was the honorable chief guest of the webinar while Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman Khan from the Department of Bangla at the University of Rajshahi presented his valuable lecture as the main discussant of the event.

Since standard pronunciation is a crucial matter to maintain in formal situations, the GUB authority felt the urge to arrange a lecture by the mentioned resource person to equip its students with proper understanding of the standard Bangla pronunciation. Prof. Mizanur Rahman Khan inspired the students to try to maintain the proper protocol of standard Bangla language in discourse. He presented a comparative discussion on pronunciation and orthography. Participants were enlightened to know about different language families and varieties of articulatory franchise. Prof. Dr.Golam Ahmed Faruqi, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies expressed his remarks on the present status of Bangla in specific situations.

The webinar was organized by the faculty members of Green University Language Center under the leadership of Ms. Serajum Munira, the director of Green University Language Center.
