Completion of the Fourth Event of the Language Fest – Quiz Competition ” অমর একুশে প্রমিত বাংলা বানান কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২২”

Every year, 21st February is observed as the International Mother Language Day worldwide under the recognition of UNESCO. To commemorate the unyielding spirit and to honor the struggles and sacrifices of the fearless martyrs, a virtual Mother Language Fest is being organized for the second time by the Language Center, Green University of Bangladesh, from February 21 to March 1, 2022. As the fourth event of the fest, a quiz competition “অমর একুশে প্রমিত বাংলা বানান কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২২” was successfully arranged via Zoom.

The quiz competition was divided into two rounds that was held using the Kahoot! and Zoom app. A demo session was organized on Friday, 25 February, 2022, at 11:00 am to give the participants an idea about the Kahoot! app and the rules of the competition. The quiz competition was held in two rounds. The First Round was on Friday, 25 February, 2022, at 06:30 pm. Students who participated in the first round and won it, was qualified for the final round. The Final round was held on February 26 at 11:00 am. A total of 327 students registered for the competition, out of which 70 students were qualified for the final round.

The event was Hosted by Tanzia Mobarak Monisha, Lecturer, Department of English & Language Center, Green University of Bangladesh. The event was telecast live on the official Facebook page of GUB. Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean (Acting), Faculty of Science and Engineering, Green University of Bangladesh graced the event with his presence as the chief guest. He encouraged all the participants of the competition and the organizers by appreciating their efforts for such interactive and interesting competition.

Nazmus Sakib, from the department of CSE became the winner of the competition. Nazrul Isalm and Md Montasir Rahman, both from CSE department held the second and third position, respectively.  The first 10 participants will be receiving awards and certificates from the honorable guests on prize giving ceremony day.

With an optimistic note to continue offering stages like this in the upcoming days, the event came to an end with the vote of thanks from Ms. Serajum Munira, Director of Language Center.
