Successful Completion of the Pre-University English Language Course Certificate Awarding Ceremony

We are pleased to share with you all that the Department of English and Language Centre, Green University of Bangladesh, has collaboratively organized a successful Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the “Pre-University English Language Course” (Session: Summer 2021) on 19.11.2021.

In this session, 120 students registered for the course and our faculty members conducted 12 classes focusing on the basic skills of the English language. Through a month of meticulous assessment, we selected 19 students who qualified for the criteria to receive certificates. Protik Saha Palash has aced the course this time. All of the 19 contenders have been encouraged with e-certificates, and the top three have been given additional gifts for their extraordinary performances.

Course attendees and regular GUB students along with the faculties of the Department of English and Language Centre were present at the event. Hosted by Ms. Sumaiya Afreen, Lecturer, Department of English and Language Center, the event began at 3.00 PM. At first, Ms. Serajum Munira, Assistant Professor, Department of English, and Director, Language Centre, shared an overview and highlighted the activities of the course. Next, Mr. Ashik Istiak, Senior Lecturer, Department of English, delivered a short yet comprehensive presentation on the goals and activities of the Department of English and Language Center. After that, the e-certificates were displayed by Mr. Mamunur Rashid Zaber, Lecturer, Department of English and Language Center. Later, the students who secured the 1st and 2nd positions shared their positive experiences and appreciations with the audience.


The program concluded with a remarkable vote of thanks by our Honorable Session Chair, Professor K. M. Wazed Kabir, Chairperson, Department of English. The ceremony came to an end with an optimistic note that this course will be co-run in the future as well . We anticipate that this event will earn fame and appreciation for the department as well as for the university.
