Webinar On Online Learning: The Concept, Delivery and Assessment Alternatives

Green University Language Center (GULC) has successfully conducted a seminar titled “Online Learning: The Concept, Delivery and Assessment Alternatives” on May 18,2020 (Monday) at 11:00 am through the platform ZOOM.

A.S.M Shamim Miah, Associate Professor and Chair of E-learning Committee of Centre of Foundation Studies, University of Al Buraimi, Oman, enriched the session as the keynote speaker and shared his expertise with the participants.

Honorable Vice Chancellor of GUB, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir graced the event as the Chief guest and honorable Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque was the Special guest of this highly informative arrangement. The event also became enriched by the presence of respected deans, directors, chairpersons and faculty members of different departments, and the officers of GUB. The event was a large gathering of 77 participants from different disciplines of GUB.

The seminar was focused on the sudden adaptation of online classes and its challenges. Various online platforms suitable for conducting online classes along with the facilities of student assessment and data collection were discussed. Alternatives or solutions of various problems of online platforms were also brought forward so that a comparison can easily be made. Beside this pandemic crisis, future possibilities of online platforms and the past experience were also a very engaging part of the seminar. The seminar ended up with the question/answer’s session and the reflections by the respected guests.
